Yuki loves travel and she is an amazing companion. She never flew, we always drive her and take the ferry when going to #Nantucket. But traveling a long way with your pets is definitely a commitment. You need to be sure they are able to travel without getting sick, anxious, or agitated. Before a long trip (we travel by car with her twice a year between South Florida and New England) I always advise #testdrive - if your pets are not able calmly handle a short trip, they will be miserable on a long one.

Another thing is proper medication and food - if your pets require specific medication be sure to refill it before your trip. Don’t change your pets food during the trip, this can upset their stomach.

Last but not least check pet policy in the surrounding areas of your trip. Sometimes pet-friendly accommodations can be extremely difficult to find. Very often, hotels have only a few rooms for our #fourlegged friends so it’s good to make reservations ahead. It’s #summer2020 and we don’t want anymore surprises! Let’s have a #funsummer
